CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)

Objectives

This industry recognised course will provide companies who need to meet the ever increasing demand for evidence of Health & Safety compliance, with all the relevant knowledge to meet today’s legislative demands.

Who for

This course is appropriate for everyone involved in line management, including charge hands, foremen, supervisors, site managers, project managers, as well as proprietors of smaller companies.

Course Content

This course covers the Health & Safety at work Act, regulations relevant to the construction industry and includes: -

• Site set up.
• CDM.
• Risk assessment.
• Method statement.
• Scaffolding.
• Electricity.
• Excavations.
• Demolition.
• Confined space.

Training Method

A highly participative course, with case study exercises for house building, civil engineering, factories & ancillary building, demolition, refurbishment and New Roads & Streetworks.

Additional Information

The course duration is 5 days. It must be stressed to all candidates that they must attend ALL sessions.

Without full attendance the CITB will not award the qualification.

This course meets the criteria for CITB grants.
