Anyone who is responsible for the use and inspection of ladders and step ladders at work.

What are the aims of the course?

This course has been updated to reflect the Working At Heights Regulations, giving an explanation of the hazards involved with Ladders and Step Ladders and how to control the risks associated with their use.

To ensure that candidates:

• Can conduct effective inspections
• Recognise the dangers of incorrect ladder use
• Can eliminate the dangers of incorrect ladder use

• Current legislation regarding use of ladders
• Strength, length and safety of ladders
• Why do we inspect ladders?
• The best way to inspect ladders (including demonstration)
• Identifying defects in steps and ladders
• Correct use of ladders
• User responsibilities and risk assessment
• Multiple-choice examination
• Q&A session

Safety Requirements

Because the course is carried out on site, candidates must strictly adhere to the client’s site regulations and requirements.

Candidates must wear PPE at all times during instruction
